Getting around by bike
Kiawah Island is one of the best places in the country to ride your bicycle. It offers 30 miles of paved trails and 10 miles of hard-packed beach for biking.
Bike paths on Kiawah island weave through maritime forest, freshwater ponds and salt marsh enclaves. With a history of conservation, biking on Kiawah Island is a great way to get outdoors and enjoy nature while also socializing with others who enjoy riding their bicycles.
Among the many popular areas to check out when biking on Kiawah island is Night Heron Park, Mingo Point, Beachwalker Park and Marsh Island Park. The 8.1-acre Marsh Island Park is also home to one of three observation towers, which provide the perfect place for a photo op and to sit back and take in some incredible views over the wetlands.
You can also bike through the golf courses at Timbers Kiawah and the Turtle Point Golf Course. The golf course loops are lovely and the views of the marsh and golf course are stunning.
Biking Kiawah island is a wonderful activity that can be enjoyed by both kids and adults alike. You can pick up a map of the bike trails and explore the area to find your perfect route that will give you an opportunity to connect with nature while also providing a fun and unique experience for the whole family!
A popular option for visitors and residents is to bike to Freshfields Village, a retro ‘Disney’ style market place with restaurants, shops and other options. You can then continue your cycle toward Seabrook Island to Bohicket Marina where you can watch boats sail by and dine on fresh caught fish.
